Hi, I’m Cheyenne — and my love of travel technically started in a 27-foot hot dog.
How It Started
After college, I spent a year driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile around the country as an official Hotdogger — yes, that’s a real, actually-hard-to-get job. I was in a new city every week, living out of hotels, and it wasn’t always glamorous. Sometimes we were at the Marriott in Chicago, and other times… a small mote in rural Pennsylvania. But somewhere between all those states, I got hooked. Not on hot dogs (well, maybe a little). On the feeling of always being somewhere new.
How It’s Going
Now, I’m just your average 30-year-old working in corporate America, trying to maximize my PTO.
There’s a lot of places I want to go, so I’ve gotten really good at short trips. 5 days in Vietnam? Sure, why not! (although, I may have regretted that somewhere in the middle of the 27-hour travel day).
That said, jam-packing a short trip means I rarely do everything a place has to offer — and I’m definitely not traveling luxuriously — but I’ve had the chance to experience so many new places, and I’m building up an arsenal of destinations I want to return to when I have more time!
My type-A personality definitely takes over when I’m planning a trip — hours of research on what to see, where to eat, and a full spreadsheet mapping out the itinerary. But ironically, some of my favorite memories come from the unplanned time in between: just wandering and seeing what I find. So I always try to build in space for both.
Some of my favorite destinations so far: Japan (I know, basic, but it’s so many people’s favorite for a reason), Vietnam, Crested Butte, and Germany!
My Interests
Good views, great food, better coffee, and anywhere that feels a little off the beaten path.
My favorite thing to do on a trip is to wander around for a few hours in a less touristy area, coffee in hand.
I’m also obsessed with my Fujifilm X-T30 II camera that I got a little over a year ago. It’s so much more intentional than taking a photo with my phone, and looks way better of course, although I’m still getting the hang of it, so no judgment, okay?!
Anyways, I’m glad you’re here and hope you stick around for the ride!
